Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Joh 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with HIS FINGER wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
- Apa yang ditulis Kristus sewaktu dia menulis di tanah dengan jarinya?
- Tentu saja yang ditulis di tanah ada hubungannya dengan dosa perzinahan dan hukumannya untuk dilempari batu
- Kristus datang ke bumi ini bukan untuk menghakimi orang berdosa (berzinah), namun dia datang untuk menyelamatkan orang berdosa (berzinah).
- Jikalau Kristus datang ke bumi ini untuk menghakimi orang berdosa, wanita ini bersama-sama dengan orang-orang yang menuduh wanita ini seharusnya patut dilempari batu semuanya.
- Tetapi Kristus datang untuk menyelamatkan semua orang berdosa
- Oleh sebab itu, apa yang ditulis ditanah dengan jarinya?
Christ came to save sinners. Said Jesus: “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” --Testimonies, vol. 4, p. 42. par. 2
THE LAW OF MOSES
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS for THE REMISSION OF SINS that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and JUDGMENTS.
- Hukum Musa mengatakan bahwa seorang gadis yang berzinah patut dilempari batu sampai mati sebagai hukumannya.
- Upah dosa sesungguhnya adalah maut; seseorang yang berdosa patulah untuk mati
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that SINNETH, it shall DIE.
THE MERCY OF GOD
Jas 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and MERCY rejoiceth against judgment.
Mic 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he DELIGHTETH in MERCY.
- Walaupun upah dosa adalah kematian kekal, namun Bapa disurga lebih menginginkan agar mahluk yang diciptakan-Nya untuk hidup.
- Bapa lebih menginginkan agar manusia berdosa menerima kemurahan-Nya daripada penghakiman-Nya
- Apakah keadilan (penghakiman) Bapa dibatalkan terhadap orang berdosa agar manusia berdosa tidak perlu mengalami kematian?
- Apakah hukum Tuhan dapat dirubah demi mahluk ciptaan-Nya bisa hidup selama-lamanya?
- Apakah karna Bapa penuh dengan kemurahan, sehingga tidak ada yang perlu membayar hutang dosa (penghakiman)?
- Kristus datang kebumi ini bukan untuk meniadakan hukum Bapanya disurga, melainkan untuk menjunjung tinggi hukum itu didalam kehidupannya.
- Tidak sekalipun dia melanggar hukum Bapanya; dia datang untuk menunjukan keabadian daripada hukum Bapanya
Satan has deceived the Christian world with the story that when Christ died he abolished the law. It was the cross of Calvary that exalted the law of God, and made it honorable… If God could have changed one iota of his law, Jesus need not have come to our world to suffer and die; -- Signs of the Times, November 24, 1887, par. 11
THE EXCHANGE
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS for THE REMISSION OF SINS that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Jon 1:9 If we CONFESS our sins, he is faithful and just TO FORGIVE us OUR SINS, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
- Kehidupan (karakter) Kristus adalah pengungkapan kebenaran dan kesempurnaan hukum Bapanya disurga.
- Manusia berdosa tidak bisa menurut hukum Tuhan, sehingga dia semata-mata dituduh hukum sebagai pelanggar hukum Tuhan (berdosa)
- Barang siapa mengakui dosanya, dosanya diberikan kepada Kristus yang membayarnya di kayu salib sebagai tuntutan hukum (penghakiman atau judgment)
- Dan kepadanya dinyatakan benar (righteous) sesuai dengan tuntutan kesempurnaan hukum, sehingga dia tidak perlu mati untuk membayar upah dosanya
- Kepadanya diberikan kemurahan Bapa (mercy), sementara Anak Bapalah yang menerima penghakiman (judgment) sebagai upah pelanggaran hukum Bapa
The law requires righteousness,—a righteous life, a perfect character; and this man has not to give. He cannot meet the claims of God’s holy law. But Christ, coming to the earth as man, lived a holy life, and developed a perfect character. These He offers as a free gift to all who will receive them. His life stands for the life of men. --Desire of Ages, p. 762, par. 2
SO, WHAT WAS WRITTEN ON THE GROUND?
Joh 8:6,7 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with HIS FINGER WROTE on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is WITHOUT SIN among you, let him first CAST A STONE (judgment) at her.
- Yang ditulis ditanah ada hubungannya dengan pertanyaan yang ditanyakan
- Bagi yang tidak ada dosanya (dosanya sudah diampuni), silahkan melempari wanita ini dengan batu sampai mati
- Untuk tidak ada dosanya, artinya dosanya sudah diampuni
- Dosa yang diampuni adalah dosa (upah dosa yang adalah judgment = dilempari batu sampai mati) sudah diberikan kepada Kristus, dan menerima kemurahan (mercy) dari Bapa, sehingga tidak perlu mati
Mat 18:24-35 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
- Jadi, apa yang ditulis jari Kristus di tanah? Yang ditulis adalah dosa-dosa mereka yang mereka harapkan sudah diampuni
- Sehingga jikalau dosa-dosa mereka sudah diampuni, namun mereka tidak memperlakukan terhadap orang yang berhutang kepada mereka, sebagaimana mereka telah diperlakukan oleh Tuhan, maka dosa mereka akan dikembalikan kepada mereka
- Sehingga merekalah yang patut untuk dilempari batu, sebagaimana mereka mau melempari batu wanita yang sedang berhutang kepada Tuhan
Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
- Kristus mengatakan, jikalau ada diantara kamu yang dosanya sudah diampuni, sehingga tidak perlu dilontari batu, biarlah dia yang melontari batu
- Barang siapa yang sudah menerima kemurahan (mercy) Tuhan, biarlah dia yang melempari wanita yang menginginkan kemurahan (mercy) Tuhan dengan batu sampai mati
MERCY BEGAT MERCY
Mat 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
- Sebagaimana saya memperlakukan orang lain, demikian juga akan diperlakukan terhadap saya
Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

IN THE VERY ACT
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
- Manusia yang adalah karnal (daging) tidak dapat mengerti hukum Tuhan yang spiritual
- Orang yang karnal akan senantiasa melanggar hukum Tuhan yang spiritual
- Yang karnal hanya dapat melakukan yang karnal (sesuai keinginan dagingnya), sementara yang spiritual melakukan yang spiritual (tidak melayani keinginan daging nya yang karnal)
Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
- Dimengerti orang yang karnal
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- Dimengerti orang yang spiritual, namun tidak dimengerti oleh orang yang karnal
Joh 8:3-4 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, IN THE VERY ACT.
- Orang Farisi mengerti tulisan hukum Tuhan sebatas apa yang tertulis (the letter of the law), namun mereka tidak mengerti prinsip hukum Tuhan yang hanya dapat dijelaskan oleh roh Tuhan (spiritual)
1Co 2:13,14 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural (carnal) man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they (the spiritual things/law) are spiritually discerned.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
- Kristus mengatakan kepada murid-muridnya, jilakau penurutan hukum-mu tidak melebihi penurutan hukum nya orang Farisi dan penulis Torat, kamu tidak akan masuk kedalam kerajaan surga
- Orang Farisi punya penurutan ialah untuk tidak berzinah “in the very act,” atau tidak kedapatan sementara melakukan perzinahannya dengan orang lain, namun mereka sudah berzinah didalam pikiran mereka
- Prinsip hukum Tuhan seperti inilah yang ditulis ditanah, sementara roh Tuhan menginsafkan hati mereka akan pelanggaran mereka

- Itu sebabnya mengapa Kristus menulis dengan jarinya ditanah, untuk mengungkapkan dosa perzinahan mereka, walaupun mereka tidak pernah kedapatan “in the very act”
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- Melalui hukum Tuhan dosa diungkapkan secara tertulis (dimengerti orang Farisi dan penulis Torat), dan secara spiritual (ditulis roh Tuhan didalam hati)
Joh 16:8 And when he (Comforter; Spirit of truth) is come, he will REPROVE the world of SIN, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
- Pekerjaan roh kudus adalah untuk menginisafkan orang berdosa akan dosa pelanggaran hukum nya
- Tanpa hukum Tuhan (patokan standart kebenaran), tidak seorang pun dapat mendefinisikan dosa
- Hanya roh Tuhan lah yang dapat menjelaskan apa itu dosa berdasarkan standart kebenaran itu, yang adalah hukum Tuhan
- Pekerjaan roh kudus adalah untuk menginisafkan orang berdosa akan dosa pelanggaran hukum nya
- Tanpa hukum Tuhan (patokan standart kebenaran), tidak seorang pun dapat mendefinisikan dosa
- Hanya roh Tuhan lah yang dapat menjelaskan apa itu dosa berdasarkan standart kebenaran itu, yang adalah hukum Tuhan
This law which man is called upon to obey as the standard of right for the universe, is the wise and holy counsel of God. It is a moral law, and has its foundation in the difference between right and wrong. .--Signs of the Times June 5, 1901, par. 7
Luk 11:20 But if I with THE FINGER of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by THE SPIRIT OF GOD, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
- Jari Kristus melambangkan kuasa roh kudus
- Roh kudus menginsafkan orang berdosa akan dosanya
- Waktu Kristus menulis dengan jarinya di tanah, roh Kristus sedang menginsafkan orang Farisi dan penulis Torat akan dosa mereka
- Setelah mereka disadarkan akan dosanya, mereka semua meninggalkan tempat penghakiman mereka, karna mereka sendirilah yang sedang dihakimi oleh perbuatan mereka
Christ came not to condemn, but save sinners .
